Good on them, I hate these BS loyalty schemes, and typically avoid any store that offers them.

    Boosted offers were tailored to the individual and based on what shoppers had purchased in the past. To get the points, you need to hit the “Boost” button online or on the app before you shop and include the product in your groceries.

    Yeah I’m out. What kinda nonsense is this. What happened to the good old days, where companies would harvest and sell your data without you having to do anything?

      Exactly, the amount of effort people will go to to save a buck is ridiculous. There’s a power company that lets you buy power in advance, with all these discounts. It’s been explained to me a few times, and always seems like far more trouble than it’s worth. Same with AA smartfuel etc.

      Some people really need to think about how much their time is worth.

        The worst is when people queue up at petrol stations for hours to save a couple of dollars… Like, why not ride a bike or walk or something instead of driving if you’ve got that much time to spare…

      Kiwis seem to love a gimmick.

      Countdown Lego? New World kitchenware? A myriad of power and mobile companies with “free hours” and other schemes?

      And it’s all designed to give the illusion of savings for the customer.

          There wasn’t much in the way of gimmicks in England. Most places seemed to be focussed on cutting expenditure via whatever exploitative or customer-negative ways so that they could shave another 10p off the price of a bag of carrots.

          But, there was actual competition so 🤷‍♂️

      I’m not gonna defend Countdown but I’m pretty sure there extra points above the standard per order earn rate.

      Adding some gamification of their loyalty scheme.
