A local board chair is questioning the cost of Labour's harbour crossing plan, while the mayor says both Labour and National's policies are about about politics, not transport.

Do you think the criticism of this plan as being “too gold-plated” is fair? I’m not familiar with the area, so I’m not sure if light rail is really needed.

    The idea that a city doesn’t need light rail is laughable.

        Yeah, the shore already has wider motorway lanes and a dedicated busway, they shouldn’t get light rail as well. What about dominion road light rail? Less promises more delivery please.

          Yeah, that does seem strange to me. Perhaps they’re thinking this will result in new subdivisions being built?
