You may already be comfortable with another app or the web version of Lemmy, but I recommend ‘Connect for Lemmy’ if you’re looking for instance blocking. It allows you to block instances as a user.
Fáilte go dtí mo phróifíl! Tá beagán Gaeilge agam, thosaigh mé á fhoghlaim ~6 mhí ó shin. Tá brón orm má dhéanaim botún!
Welcome to my profile! I’m just looking to have discussions about interests / hobbies.

I have migrated to feddit.ch.

Thanks for the additional info! Thankfully, it worked in ProtonPass 1st try and gave legit 2FA codes, without needing to change any further settings.
I was aware that some authenticators run into errors with Lemmy for one reason or another, but that was forunately not the case here.
Ah, thank you so much! This worked perfectly!
I do believe there is a fix for that, iirc you have to enable ‘Spoof App Signature’ under Settings > ReVanced > Misc.
I think that’s how I fixed it, but if not there are discussions on how to fix this issue over at the ReVanced subreddit.
Apologies for necroposting, but this seemed like the right place to ask. I am a returning player, after having not played in many years.
However, when I log in, I haven’t the first idea of what to do and my character is progressed enough that there are no walkthroughs / tutorials available to me.
Is it possible to reset progress on my character, or start fresh without needing to create a new account entirely? Thanks for your help.
I didn’t know this about lynels being under stables. So I checked my map, as I had marked each lynel I encountered in the depths, and you’re right! Each one is directly under a stable!
Strongly agree with both yours and OP’s sentiments. There’s little use dwelling on Reddit now, and we have something really special starting here on Lemmy / Kbin / the Fediverse.
It’s been great to see various communities grow and adapt to the changes since this all took off.
Great news, thanks for the heads-up! Hopefully, though, we get some way to search both Lemmy communities and Kbin magazines through one browser.
Having to use browse.feddit.de and kbin.social/magazines separately doesn’t seem optimal.
Ah okay, thanks for letting me know
I see in this post it says that Lemmy communities can be followed from a Mastodon instance. Can the opposite be done too? Could I follow a Mastodon account via Lemmy.world?
Sorry if this is a really silly question, the Fediverse is still very new to me!
I don’t intend to go back nearly as much as before, even if the changes are reverted (unlikely, imo). A lot of the aspects of Reddit that I didn’t like - but tolerated - are generally not found here, at least so far. While Lemmy still leaves things to be desired, it just feels better to engage with.
However, I may still add " reddit" to the end of a search query to avoid all the bloat articles that crop up in a search. There’s still a wealth of useful information on Reddit from all those years for even the most niche questions / topics.
Yeah, one thing I hope to leave behind with Reddit is every major subreddit farming outrage w.r.t. American politics.
It just became exhausting and made me unsub from a lot of the big subreddits. So far, Lemmy has been quite positive! It’s refreshing.
Lemmy seems to cover most of the content from larger subreddits. For the smaller, or more specific communities (such as local subreddits or those for hobbies/interests) they generally have a Discord server to join.
So between Lemmy and Discord, I’ve eliminated the need to use Reddit at all. This isn’t without it’s flaws or drawbacks, but it ‘scratches the Reddit itch’, I guess.
Click on your username to go to your profile, from there it’s under ‘Saved’, hope this helps
Ah, thank you! I was going to profile instead of settings.
I can’t seem to find a way to search through comments, so sorry if this has already been asked in this thread: How do you add a profile picture? Going to my profile doesn’t seem to help much.
I’m trying out an app called Jerboa for Lemmy on Android, it’s okay so far. Better than using a browser most of the time.
Ah, you’re right, Connect is just for Android. Though I do remember hearing of an iOS Lemmy app that could block instances at a user level, but I’m sorry to say I don’t remember the name.
That being said, I fully agree with you on relying on instance admins to defederate / block instances. I prefer to have the agency to choose for myself what gets blocked / not blocked. Though I can’t complain about my instance’s decisions so far, thankfully.
I hope you find something that works for you.
