I’ve been trying to post a - rather long - comment for a while, and it’s just not going through. It just instantly disappears on old.lemmy.world, and sits there spinning on the main site - while one-liner comments elsewhere have worked as normal. I’m not getting errors, but that’s kind of par for the course. Could it be length related?
Does this apply to text posts as well, or do posts have a longer character limit than comments?
My link says it’s both and proposes a lower limit for comments. I can’t find anything about actually changing it though so it seems currently it’s the same for both.

Well I gotta say, that’s … a lot shorter than I expected. Is that 50k characters?
Oh wow I’m just now seeing your edit… I still thought it was 10k… I’ll have to edit the post.
I ended up reading the post in full and noticed you mentioned a 10k limit, but that was after I responded here. But yeah, it should be 50k now (the change was done last year so all servers should have it).
No worries, just edited what I could fit into the body. 50k is much better to work with!
