Please note this is just a beta and there are going to be bugs, but it works and it works nicely. Have fun.

I know Sync is very popular, so I’m going to give it a go. However, after trying many clients (Jerboa, Connect, Summit, Liftoff, Lemming, Thunder) my favourite so far has been Liftoff.

ETA: First impression - why is all the text so tiny? I can barely read it. I need my glasses 😂

I personally like the small text! I used the smallest setting on the reddit version of sync. I like that it makes it harder for someone to read what I’m reading over my shoulder 😁

My old eyes don’t like it 😂

I must be blind (ha!) But I can’t find general text settings. I’ve increase the size of post titles and descriptions, but comments are still teeny tiny eyestrain-o-vision…

It’s called Base font size and is under the General section of the General section of Settings. I had to increase mine too, it’s crazy small by default.

Wonderful, thank you! Now it’s at least usable.

Not sure if it’s good enough to get past the ads though…

Yeah I found it tiny as well. I also enjoy Liftoff the most , it’s my option of choice. Think the only feature I miss is that when you share an URL, it doesn’t auto populate the Title. Jerboa does this.

Yeah I miss this as well.

I think I like Sync, having messed around with it a little today, except I didn’t realise when I paid for it that it doesn’t (yet) have the capacity to create a new post, only replies on existing ones. I dunno, I kind of assumed that making new conversations would be a fairly high priority…

That’s… interesting. I guess it’s in beta, but it does seem odd to not have post creation functionality. I guess they’ve released it for people to use as soon as there is something worth using, hopefully features come thick and fast.

Sync is (in my opinion) the smoothest way to experience Lemmy at the moment. I used Sync for about 10 years on Reddit and have had nothing but good experiences

Not tried Sync yet, but have been using Connect for Lemmy on Android and finding it pretty good.

I keep falling back to the native browser interface in Chrome on the desktop, as most other “apps” still have pretty big omissions.

Yeah, I find myself using the website as well, no matter how much I try to use apps.

The “Show context” bug is super annoying at the moment though.

I’m a big sync fan! Might buy the ad free version sometime but jerboa has really grown on me so I might just donate to them this time instead

Tbh I’m not a fan, I noticed I kept going back to liftoff. Been trying Jerboa and Connect as well.

Great to have choice as well!
