On the topic of Wellington, a new Terrace and Mt Vic tunnel, plus basin reserve upgrade was part of Let’s get Wellington moving, a program that had been in a cycle of endless consultation for nearly a decade. It’s also badly needed, as it can be over an hour to get from the airport to the motorway on a bad day. It also means something will actually happen.

If Wellington Council had been anywhere near competent, the light rail would be already underway, and too far into the project to cancel. At least this way, we will get SH1 upgraded, and the trams can wait for the next Labour government.
