“When pressed, Luxon also said National hadn’t carried out any “specific modelling” for how its housing plan would affect house prices.”

Honestly couldn’t think of worse. Maybe if they make things so bad the populace will crack and throw out this scum. Pretty unlikely. Things will just get worse until those that can leave do and those that stay perish.

Now’s the time to find your local community garden and help out, or start one if there isn’t already. Make networks with people who are in similar mutual aid groups and build a way for our communities to survive outside the current system. Community gardens help people who are struggling, but also help support large scale industrial action such as strikes. I can guarantee that if you live in the 10 biggest cities there are people working on projects like these near you, so don’t be afraid to reach out if you need help or want to help out.

Good idea. I don’t live in a city and have just started out my vegetable garden. This is a great idea however it’s sad that this is our resolve to this kind of threat.

If national do get in then me and my partner will really need to consider if NZ is for us. Lots of countries are worse but we need to do something.

I’m not perishing without a fight. How that actually goes down is impossible to see. Time will tell

It’s a shame all the progress Labour have made building state houses and light rail won’t continue, isn’t it?

This government has built more state houses than any since the 70s, so yes it would be a shame. In fact it’ll be a disaster for many.

My point is they’ve failed miserably to fulfill their promises on so many issues, and I have zero faith they will fulfill any made regarding building houses.

Same. Unfortunately there are zero other choices. Remove the politicians and start building regardless of affiliation
