Really cool initiative. I’ve read a bit about the oversized impact food insecurity has and how it interacts with measures like poverty, and this seems like yet more evidence that if you provide the basics to everyone, the knock-on effects pay for the programme in the first place.

    School lunches should be free across the country. We need to make sure kids have access to health foods to help them learn.

    This is great! One of the problems with targeted assistance for things like school lunches, is that if only some kids get them then the ones eligible tend to not take up the offer and just stay hungry. They don’t like being seen as the “poor” kids.

    With a blanket programme like this, everyone gets lunch and there’s no stigma.
