@[email protected] I wonder what proportion of the original code is still there. Not much I shouldn’t think. The original app didn’t ask for android permissions the way the modern one does, if only coz Android changed the way permissions work since then.
Whatssapp is designed as a surveillance app, it’s primary purpose is to collect data from your phone for Facebook to analyze, so they make it basically impossible to use unless it’s installed on your phone.
The british public are pretty conservative, but the tory party are a fucking wrecking ball and no conservative should vote conservative if they want to conserve things.
1·5 months agoSeems unlikely they’ll deleted it. If they’re started deleting data that’s quite a change. They might save from bandwidth costs of delivering it to people I suppose.
Maybe something to do with users filling the AIs from the google cache? Google wanting to ensure only they can train from the google-cache.
@[email protected] Yeah, it’d just be easier to reset than to sort through good from bad. Can always re-assess any good ones. Chances are even they can be done better.
Resetting the Brexit and other foreign treaty stuff could be quite tricky in practice too.
If only there really was a party offering to undo every law the conservative and coalition governments have passed and return us to a time before they existed.
That party would be the best party.

Fedi has always had scalloped growth. Big Social tightens the thumb-screws, a wave of people leave, half of them go back because it turns out they can put up with the thumb-screws after all. Those that remain settle in and start servers. The waterline is then higher when the next wave comes.

But log in to the feddit.uk server, search for @gunners in the search, and if nothing is broken with federation it should show up.
The cevat is that sometimes at the moment servers are turning on DDOS protection, and that breaks the federation. Hopefully they eventually can turn that off and restore federation to it’s full working state. lemmy world seems to be connecting to fedia.io at the moment at least.
I usually end up using Blender, because I’m familiar with it and it’s properly cross-platform and it’s python scripting system means you can write software to do the editing in some circumstances. Especially repetitive work.
If you’re neither scripting/programming nor already familiar with Blender then KdenLive is probably where I’d head.

In a single large forum most participants are silent, as they must be or it’d be a cacophony. Many are silent out of worry that they need to say something good enough to impress a hundred thousand people, not just something interesting to their local 100 friends.
On Fediverse things escape their local instances and their local forum-groups by boosts mostly.
