  • Yeah, I’ll confess, this may be very largely an American perspective. I am in one of the least religious metro areas of the US, and it’s still 50%+ Christian. For anyone who has been near Christian conversion propaganda, there are a lot of red flags in that ad, but I also agree with some comments below that it doesn’t seem like a great pitch even in absence of that context. I’d want to know more about what is being taught and why before I would be interested.

  • One of the things I found useful for occasionally setting boundaries is “time out”, ie, shut her in your bathroom for about 5 min when she’s really bouncing off the walls. I wouldn’t use it as a more than once a day kind of thing, but sometimes communicating “this is too much, we are not playing right now and you can come out once you calm down a little” can reset the mood quite a bit. And it can give you a short breather when you are feeling overwhelmed.

I’d also recommend watching some old “My Cat from Hell” episodes, they have some very specific advice that can help out a ton! Jackson Galaxy is really a cat whisperer, and also talks quite a bit about the relationship between not only the humans and the cat, but also coaching the relationship between people as well. It’s important you and your fiancee are on the same page and work together.

  • Cis woman here, married to a trans woman, so I’m familiar with both sides of this puberty: it’s okay to eat a little more. You’re basically a teenager, and your body needs energy now. You are going to go through a fair bit of change and it’s important to have the calories needed to do so, especially if you’re starting out without much fat in reserve. Your body is going to redistribute where fat accumulates on your body, and people with estrogen tend to have a higher body fat percentage than people with testosterone.

If you have a therapist (gender therapist or otherwise) I’d definitely consult with them about your anxiety around this, since you mentioned the possibility of disordered eating. If it helps, talking to your regular doctor or endocrinologist can give you other professional perspectives on this as well.

Good luck! And take care of yourself ♥
