Barbie still can’t decide what to do with those annoying bangs.

I tried this about a year ago. It was noticeably slower than the native chrome browser also a bit of a pain to manage downloaded files. Still pretty handy to be able to run Linux applications on ChromeOS. I used libre office quite successfully for a time.
I can also relate, a classic libertarian utopia sounds great until you realise poor people exist. I think a lot of individuals are just afraid of personal growth because it often means admitting you were wrong.
Remember when Google’s motto was “Don’t be evil”? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
That’s the problem, their user experience is so good, it would be the last subscription I ever get rid of.
Im speaking anecdotally, but as a law abiding citizen, none of my interactions with NSW police have been a positive experience. I would imagine individuals from other social/cultural backgrounds experience far worse treatment. IMO NSW police either needs a massive cultural shift (unlikely) or needs to be rebuilt from scratch.
Do you want a zombie apocalypse? Because this is how you get a zombie apocalypse.
That kid is going places. Probably jail.
Agreed. Recycling put the responsibility on the consumer rather than the company’s producing single use plastics in the first place.
The SDA are known to be extremely socially conservative, having donated to campaigns against same sex marriage and anti-abolition. I suspect what the original comment is trying to say is they would likely approve of the customers actions.
I don’t think it’s a culture war bullshit to point out one party is systemically corrupt compared to the other, it’s just the reality. Fact is not all MPs and public servants are corrupt. The majority do the right thing and want to serve the public. To say they are all the same is just plain, flat out ignorant. I do hope those responsible are held to account. I hope this will give at least some closure to the victims. Give it time the report was only just released.
This royal commission is a prime example that ALP and the coalition are not the same. That phrase is just propaganda pushed by corrupt politicians (predominantly Libs/Nat) to justify and deflect their own actions.
A culturally significant piece of Australiana
I believe someone else in this thread has mentioned this already, For most people the feature set on phones has been stagnant for many years. Most users have their use case met already and additional features are really just bloat (for the most part). Not all people are into tech, and a phone is simply a tool. And therefore don’t always want/need the latest and greatest.
Believe it or not, some people aren’t big on over consumption and want things to last. Companies should do better and not produce crap that’s going to end up in landfill in a few years.
I just wait for family or friends who are on contracts to upgrade. They’re usually pretty happy to let them go for a reasonable price. My partner just brought a 12 (I think) from her brother who upgrades every other year.
In my experience having both is ideal. Laptop for getting any real work done (essays, presentations research etc). iPad is ideal for note taking and digital textbooks. If I could only pick one, laptop.
Honestly for me, if my phone fits my needs, I see no point to upgrading. I tend to steer towards iPhones for their long support and the “just works” aspect. I had an iPhone 8 until this year and only just upgraded to an 11 after breaking it. But each to their own, a phone is just a tool for me.
I consider obsidian a knowledge base, rather than a note taking app. I use both apple notes and obsidian for different purposes.
