everynoise.com is pretty great, though it hasn’t kept up with the absolute most recent sub genres lately. Still fantastic, though. Connects with Spotify - which I use.
Love the Jerry Garcia Band version as well. Soooo good!
Okay, thank you. Yeah - looks like that’s the case. Thanks!
Okay, thank you. I just saw the Subscribed option. The UX could be a bit clearer, overall… but so far, this is great. I’m bummed about the inability to filter out content I don’t want to see, though.
Thanks for the quick answers! :)
Thanks so much for being here and taking reddit refugees in. Already feels like a warm place. :)
QUESTIONS:
Is there a way to filter out content I don’t want to see on the front page? I’m already seeing Trump news, for example.
I have subscribed to some cool communities. It would be great to have posts from those communities served up as my main view. I can’t figure out how to get those to be what I’m seeing by default. Any tips on customizing my experience?
Thanks again!!
And niche dialup bbs before that
300 baud bbs built in boards … LOL
Usenet! Those were the days.
Slashdot -> Fark -> StumbleUpon -> reddit -> Lemmy for me.
That’s great… I just feel something intangible behind it that is digressive or corrupting or fucked up, somehow. I can’t articulate it better than that. It’s a potent tool, though. Glad you’re able to use it in a positive way.
My band played a calypso version. So fun! We played it a ton on tour in the '90s. Always a crowd favorite.
I feel like AI is sucking the soul out of creative.
I share this attitude. Been on reddit for 17 years but am super sad to see Apollo go. That said, I use reddit on desktop with Enhancement Suite and it’s tolerable, after all the curation I have done on my subs. So it may be hard to leave, if I’m truly honest with myself. Dipping my toes in elsewhere to see what resonates, though. I’m super frustrated with the capitalist money grab and centralized social media problem reddit personifies. :(
And now I’m here after 17 years on Reddit. 🤷♂️
Thank you! As a US citizen, I was reluctant to subscribe because there were so many Trump posts. I am so over the mindshare that guy takes up rent free in my head. This is a big relief to know. And no - I am not subbing US News. Thanks again.
