My first thought exactly. The hood is completely absurd for a ground up EV design on a dedicated platform and immediately stands out as a stupid design. This is one area Tesla really excels, with even the CT.
FWIW, designers would likely forgo the high front but there are pedestrian impact standards that require a high front to pass. At low speeds, perhaps there’s a front camera to assist in parallel parking?
This idea jumped the shark long ago. It’s true if you’re talking about going from a Miata to a Civic. It’s not true extrapolating up to modern SUVs that are like a brick wall at the front. Trucks would be super pedestrian friendly if that was the case, but instead they keep killing people as obviously it hit a point, somewhere around probably an ID3, where it gets more dangerous again.
