Thank you. I’m not convinced one way or another. Though, it’s been interesting to follow everyone’s analyses.

Based on what I’ve seen, I’m personally leaning towards at least the bulk of the video being actual video of a plane. With time and diligence, I could see a professional being able to add in the orbs and disappearance of the plane.

There’s also the possibility that this could be a 3D render. Though, there are small details such as the clouds and lighting that would again require time and diligence.

In any case a fake would require a professional or team of professionals to pull off.

What makes this difficult is the lack of an original source. Without details on who released it, we can’t truly confirm the contents or even intent for releasing the videos. As much as I believe there is chance for phenomenon like what’s in the video, I can’t rule out government or bad actors releasing a video to muddy the waters regarding the flight or the topic of UAP.

I doubt we’ll have a solid answer until a source or individuals come forward to validate its authenticity. Even then, there will be skeptics on either side will that stand by their current theories.

      I’m in a similar position.

A chain of custody would make or break this video. It’s very frustrating, much like everything else surrounding this topic.

I doubt we’ll have a solid answer until a source or individuals come forward to validate its authenticity. Even then, there will be skeptics on either side will that stand by their current theories.

Couldn’t agree more with this conclusion. Well said.

The most barebones TLDR is that a video was originally posted May 19, 2014 to Youtube showing an airliner with three objects surrounding it and seemingly making it vanish. This was two months after MH370 went missing and the Youtube user claimed to have received the video March 12, 2014, four days after MH370’s disappearance.

On Jun 12, 2014 the same user uploaded a thermal video from a UAV showing an alternate view of the same event.

Reddit sleuths have determined coordinates on the video suggests the video is likely of MH370. The legitimacy of the videos is still up in the air, but the above links may help sway people one way or another. No original source has come forward and even the original YouTube posts don’t explicitely cite the plane shown, date of events, or much speculation otherwise.

I won’t even bother trying to recap the various posts, because there is a lot of technical analysis of elements of the videos, positioning and specs of satellites and UAV, flight paths, etc. All of which show that if the videos are faked, they were done with a high level of detail matching the event.

I want to add a TLDR on the apparent source of the videos.

Video one has white airliner and UAPs on a grey background. It purports to be infrared footage from a U.S. spy satellite. The image appears like it might be a screen capture from a video playback software. There is overlay text at the bottom of the frame that gives lat / lon coordinates, and at several points it appears that an operator pans the image with a mouse to track the objects. The overlay text also seems to identify the source as “NROL-22”, which is an actual NRO satellite.

Video two, as stated, purports to show the same incident from the perspective of a U.S. surveillance drone. The drone fuselage shape visible at one point has been identified with the MQ-1C Gray Eagle, with a specific surveillance package with under-wing infrared cameras. This video shows more detail on the airliner, and depicts a hot spot on the lower fuselage.

I believe both videos in their original form contained no commentary or text or voice narration.

I apologize for not being able to provide that at the moment. I’m still catching up myself. If someone else creates a TL;DR, I’ll share it. Alternatively, you can wait until it’s either A) debunked or B) confirmed and then watch the inevitable Netflix series :)

    A couple new details.

u/GrimZeigfeld shows that the objects and plane appear to be pulled back from behind the plane. This was also apparently liked by Ross Coulthart in a tweet.

That user also noted that the objects appear to be spinning in addition to orbiting the plane.
