      You can also get a dishonorable discharge as a marine for doing it (edit: it’s not related to this article, I just thought you’d also find it surprising)

      A friend of mine was threatened with this while he was a marine, despite being separated from his wife and going through a divorce (still legally married though). Fortunately somebody saw reason and the “investigation” went no where. I remember being interviewed during this farce.

    Legalisation suggests they’re going to regulate it. Decriminalisation is the word the sub-editor is looking for (the author gets it right).

    3 states (WI, MI, OK) have it as a felony. Another 14 states, including New York, and Puerto Rico have it as a misdemeanor.

    Somehow I think adultery is still going to happen constantly whether or not you legalize it. Same with any other kind of sexuality. It isn’t laws that regulate how we behave, it’s our own sexual instincts but it is nice to have such behaviors recognized as being very human and normal.
