Rules
Please read the iRacing Sporting Code - This is extremely important, and will be worth the time it takes. The iRacing UI will also ask if you’ve read this before joining your first official session. We will follow the iRacing rules on clean racing.
Protests will be handled after races are finished, outside of extreme cases. They can be submitted privately to myself or publicly in the thread. Both parties will be able to tell their side and then 2 uninvolved members will be asked to make a decision.
Setups: Open setup races, but please don’t bring setup shop sets. I’m not going to police it too hard. Building your own setups is perfectly fine and the iRacing baselines are generally pretty decent too.
Getting Started With iRacing
With some members not having use iRacing before, I felt like it would be good to add a section about getting started. This will set you up with a 1 month subscription, the UI installed, graphics configured and into a test session.
Signing up
https://www.iracing.com/membership/
The iRacing signup process offers a discount to new members, at ~40% off. This is a one time deal and if you choose to renew your membership it will be at full price. Many long term subscribers work around this by purchasing one year subscriptions during the yearly Black Friday sales.
Our league is setup that a minimum subscription of 1 month, starting on Aug. 1 will get you all the way through the season. For a new account a 1 month membership is $7.80 USD.
When you signup be sure to DISABLE the Auto-Renew subscription if you would not like to continue after the conclusion of the league.
Install the iRacing UI
When you log into the iRacing Member Website for the first time after signing up it should take you through a First Startup Guide which will guide installing the sim software, iRacing UI and any other necessary dependencies.
Graphics and Triple Monitor setup
I’m going to link to an external source on this, as Dan Suzuki has covered this really well.

Joining The League
In the sidebar of the UI select “Find a League”
Search for “Lemmy iRacing League”
If there’s interest in a group practice session I’ll get one going, and then I’ll be available online at least an hour before each race. Please leave any questions here in the thread and I or someone else should be able to help.
Love to see it! Unfortunately I can’t participate as iRacing is not running under Linux. Best of luck to all drivers nonetheless :)
Same, not going to give piles of money away for a game I’d need to maintain a windows installation for when zero of the other titles I play require that.
True that
That is one of the big ones. My desktop is going to be Linux eventually, but the sim rig will probably always be on windows
Well I can totally relate. Although many sims nowadays are running mighty fine if you ask me. ACC gets me even more fps under linux, as opposed to windows
I’m one of the ones who basically only runs iRacing, so until that has support I’m stuck, and tbh I don’t see it coming any time soon.
My main rig just needs another gpu before I can get Linux fully running over there
I should be in for all of this. Any race I miss I’m happy to steward. I’m going to suck for week 1 as I’ll have had little to no time to practice a track I’ve never raced, in a car I’ve never raced, in a sim I’ve never raced.
I’m so excited for it!
Glad to see! I suck in the Mazda too, so you’ll be in good company. You can get some practice in against other drivers this week in rookies as well if you feel ready to do an official race. It’s also at Lime Rock, so I’ll plan to match that
I’m away at the moment, won’t be coming back until Friday, then have plans Saturday… It’s going to be tight.
Great timing having this in the F1 summer break though. Something to look forward to!
Didn’t even intentionally plan it that way, but super glad it’s worked out. Hopefully we have a good turnout for the first race
Are these races fixed setup?
I’m thinking I’ll leave them open. I know I won’t be using a shop set for this. I’ll add a line into the rules about self built setups only.
The iRacing default should be good enough for all of us as well
Sorry I missed it, didn’t realize it was today. If it helps I just thoroughly lost a Ferrari fixed race to atone for my sin. Next time
Double podium baby yeah! (Yes, there were only three of us, but it still counts!) :'D
Double Podium here too!
Last Race of the Series today!!!
Come join us for the Radical SR8 at Laguna Seca
Testing if this has federated properly finally
