It’s not like she’s a tax-exempt religious institution. Not only can she encourage people to vote, but it wouldn’t be illegal for her to tell them how to vote either.

You’re sort of right. Her fanbase is large enough, you can probably find all political ideologies amongst concert attendees. That said, Swift’s fans do trend younger and female. Both groups trend left. This is why the right is concerned about Swift encouraging her fans to register to vote.
