When I was a new grad I was so excited to work the 9-5, thought I was gonna work on so many cool things and accomplish a ton. That obviously did not happen and these days it really feels like my entire job is to prove someone else’s impact. Everything feels meaningless and I’m absolutely sick of it, but this 9-5 grind is the only thing I ever envisioned myself to do. Does anyone else feel this way, and are there any routes out? What fields do people pivot to these days completely outside of technical roles?
