I never played the original, but as it’s on Gamepass via EA play decided to give it a go. It got me hooked immediately and found it hard to put down. Never got boring. It was too difficult for me on normal, easy was better for me. Hopefully they will remake 2 and 3 as well. I enjoy good graphics so not sure I enjoy the originals.

I play the original every couple of years. It still gives great scares even all these years later, but I definitely plan to get the remake when it comes down to sale prices in a year or two.

When it originally came out I played through it so many times and got all the achievements. Even the one for only using the hand blaster thing the whole game. Fucking love that game. I hope the sequel remakes are also good, and the third one goes in aa different direction. Was not great aha.

I just started in on this over the holiday weekend, and I agree: a total blast! It’s giving me heavy Mass Effect vibes crossed with exploring the derelict ships in No Man’s Sky

Excellent graphics, tight controls, great lighting, tense soundtrack. The amount of ammo and health pick ups are just enough to squeak by and keep you on your toes without being too challenging. It’s really forcing me to try out all the weapons.

I’m in chapter 7 right now and just loving it!

I never got the appeal behind the dead space series. They are by no means bad games, don’t get me wrong, they are a solid 7/10 for me if we talk in ratings, but that’s it.

The gameplay was solid but the praised dismemberment was always a mystery for me because you never knew when an enemy was really done or what kind of dismemberment made the most damage and as soon as you got the stasis module I used that to slow enemy down instead of ‘cutting their limbs’ and after I got the pulse rifle thing I just kept shooting like in any other game and it worked just fine.

The story was also strange, the marker was not directly causing the infection, then it was alien-made, than human made based on an alien made one and it was all very confusing and did not make the most sense to me. In the end it was a mostly solid vehicle to get the player from a to b.

Graphics and the general atmosphere (of the original, don’t care about the remake) were nice but you saw that they lend a lot from movies like alien, event horizon and the thing so it was not quite innovative or genuine.

In the end it was just a solid game for me, I even rent the sequel but that never got me interested to finish it. But he everybody likes something different, right 😅

It will be pretty interesting to see if EA will strictly remake the sequels or if the will use the chance to reboot it in some kind of way since the third game was so different and the story was all over the place with the games, comics, books and movies.
