I feel like I’ll be able to run indefinitely soon!

My knees hurt though, it’s tendon or fascia pain though, not joint or muscle

Congratulations! It’s a great feeling! I found entering a half marathon gave me a great incentive to keep training. Had a lot of issues with my calves from running too far and too fast though! A good training plan is a must.

Weldone, consistency is key. Don’t overdo it and keep to your own pace. Just hit 5km myself after 2 years off.

Great work! Pace yourself. Nothing will throw you off your progress faster than an injury. The C25K program was great for getting me up to 5K without hurting myself.

Congrats! Don’t forget to stretch after every run, no matter how short or easy! A lot of pain and soreness can be prevented from even starting by stretching properly :)

I’ll echo the others in saying don’t overdo it! Tendons and joints are the slowest to adapt to new load, and are the first to break if overstressed.

But congrats - you did good and you should feel good! :)

Heyy! Doing great. It is really important for new runners to experience the flow state of running once after they’ve always felt like running has to be struggle always.

    ✨ A great transition for A runner’s mindset. 🏃🏻

I discovered I was able to talk while I jogged and that’s definitely new so I’m getting there!

Thanks for checking in! No longer have knee pain, but I’m keeping the distance the same until I’m a little more conditioned.

Am getting some mild ankle pain though, like mild overuse or from sitting on it too much or maybe my running technique is wrong.

I’ll try to figure that one out today.

Sfida Hyper-lite, very new. Just some basic $40 shoes from Shoe Warehouse, just to get me back running again.

I’m not entirely up with the play on running shoes, but my experience in other areas suggests that there is a lot of marketing and ‘science’ that has as much credibility as the dirt I should be cleaning off the shoes.

Shoes can definitely make a difference. You don’t need to spend loads though, that’s definitely a trap you can fall into. I can’t really comment on the shoes you are using but it could be worth looking into.
