Probably the hyper-partisan political groups that will delete comments and ban you if you correct their false statements. Echo chambers are immensely dangerous.

They existed on both sides of the spectrum, but lets be honest the ones that were trying to defend nazi “protesters” were the worst.

Fuck people taking personal choice away. Cunts.

This is exactly what happened to /r/libertarian. It used to have great, lighly moderated content where people of most political affiliations could discuss topics and current events, but then it got taken over by mises caucus fucksticks. Then it became into a right libertarian/alt right hellscspe. I was banned shortly after. Lame.

More than particular subreddits, there are some general things I hope don’t make it here. I don’t miss dumb joke comments being voted to the top of threads, burying the comments that actually attempt to answer OPs comments. Maybe Lemmy could implement a feature for OP to pin the most helpful response.

I would say a lot of political meme circlejerk subs, but I feel like I’m talking too soon because it’s only a matter of time before some of them appear over here

whats so bad about them? are you telling me that places like politicalcompassmemes were just a horde of 14 year olds with zero political understanding?

I mostly enjoyed politicalcompassmemes, but there were a lot that were just low-effort screenshot of a mostly-bullshit tabloid style news article pasted int he middle with some reaction wojacks and a bunch of edgelords in the comments.

WhitePeopleTwitter. That sub seemed to do nothing but emanate lukewarm political takes or the worst humor imaginable - and reposted twitter screenshots are the lowest form of content

Yeah, there’s been some good posts on those subs but I hope there won’t be a repeat of racially segregated Twitter subs.

I mean, I straight up don’t want a Twitter curation community here at all, just let Twitter die already. But separating those subs by race was a particularly unfortunate choice.

Screenshots of Twitter posts. Shitty one-liner comments. TikTok reposts with insanely loud audio. It’s just not the same anymore.

CasualUK. The wanking off to the royal family and the British armed forces despite the “no politics” rule.
