Hi all. I’ve purchased a Delonghi Dinamica super automatic but so far I haven’t had much luck in getting good coffee. I didn’t expect mind blowing coffee just something as good as my old Nespresso.

I dialed it the best I could, the best setting I found was grinder on 4-5, intensity on 4 (out of 5) and max temperature. Flavor still feels a bit dull but increasing intensity or finer grind leads to a burnt or very bitter taste.

I tried a couple of beans: Lavazza Oro, Delta Platinum, Buondi (Nestlé brand), nothing felt amazing. Looking to try some alternative beans, preferably something under 30 euros per kilo shipped to Portugal. Thanks!!

You should definitely go to a local roaster, there is just nothing you can do to keep beans (and even worse, ground coffee!) fresh.

My suggestion is try Brazilian for starters or some other (that I do not know about) neutral and mildly roasted bean, then check out more or less roasted beans, other beans etc.

Everything else comes later, like except your machine is broken :-)

Came here expecting images of canned beans, guess it’s too soon.

I’ll be back later. For the memes but I’m also interested in coffee beans suggestions. Not really sure what I’m expecting from the coffee I make tbh. It’s meh but it’s still coffee.

So far I’ve tried a few kicking horse varieties. I like Hola the best so far (light roast). The medium and dark ones I’ve tried taste more burnt, I’m not sure if that’s from the roast itself or how I brew it (French press, 6 tbps for I think a litre, aim for 95 C water temp but not sure how accurate my kettle is and I’ll still use it if I miss it and end up with 100 C water).
