They appear to be really getting on board with the old baked beans, I can only assume this was a targeted attack designed to spread our tomatoiest cultural export on the Americans’ independence day

Aren’t baked beans already an American cultural export to the UK to begin with, just reworked for our pallete as they tend to be in a smokier sauce over there?
According to Wikipedia yes, though an even bigger shock is the line “Canned baked beans are not baked, but are cooked through a steam process”. I don’t know what to believe anymore!
