    as a swede i have to say some of these groupings are a bit odd, like “södra götaland” which makes no sense whatsoever neither in name nor in area, or having västra götaland stretch into jönköping municipality…

      Yeah, this is true elsewhere too. Here in Austria, “Graz” is a region that contains most of the important parts of Styria (Steiermark), and “Steiermark” is one that contains mostly mountainous parts of what’s now Styria plus most of Carinthia.

      Statistical urbanisation is ~80%. I’d rather say, apart from the primacy Paris with its own dimension, the French urban population might be quite decentralised.

        Umm… I don’t know what happened, exactly. When I first clicked the link to get a bigger picture, I somehow ended up on imgur, which only had a very low-resolution version. I could only find the big picture in the linked reddit, so I posted it.

        I cannot reproduce this issue anymore, so I removed my comment.
