Heartbreaking: Worst Company You Know Just Made a Great Point
Okay, so not the worst company, probably. But a shitty one. Yet they’re right on this. Asking people to give their ID just to see titties is bugfuck insane, and dangerous. Are we really so scared of kids encountering sex that we’re willing to endanger adults? Yikes.
Besides, teenagers who want to see porn will just find a way around this too. You can’t actually stop underage consumption of sexual content. All you can do is make sure they don’t stumble across it accidentally and make sure there are plenty of content warnings before they click the “yes, show me porn” button.

Umm… have you MET any Conservative Americans lately? They absolutely do NOT mind endangering ANYONE (kids or adults) in order to enforce the cultural norms that they take comfort in and will belittle the shit out of anyone who calls out the danger.
Fair point.
Christian fundamentalists want to keep everyone from viewing porn. Keeping it from kids is just a smokescreen for them. One of the big reasons there aren’t sensible things in place to reduce kids seeing such things, is because the Christian fundamentalists will take over that effort and try to force it on everyone.
The one time a hyperbolic headline doesn’t use “blasts.”
“Breaks silence” is another one I’ve been seeing a heck of a lot of lately. For things that are said recently, and the response is something that the responder knows will get reported on a ton so will absolutely want to take at least a small amount of time to formulate.
