The EU Council and its participants have decided to withdraw the vote on the contentious Chat Control plan proposed by Belgium, the current EU President.
According to Netzpolitik (German),
In July, the Council Presidency will transfer from Belgium to Hungary, which has stated its intention to advance negotiations on chat control as part of its work program.
On a not entirely unrelated note, Budapest’s opposition mayor just had another leak of multiple unrelated phone calls, he himself suggesting that his phone may be tapped.
The government denied that the citizenry have any business discussing their recent purchase of the Israeli malware Pegasus.
