I think I’m too young to remember that. Every product I ever bought from them had a shitload of technical problems. And the RMA would feature them trying to pressure me into paying for unnecessary services, just like in the video.

This scam seems to be a global policy for ASUS. I live in the EU.

Yeah, they were good about 15 years ago when I first started building PCs. They had great products and customer support. Now they have overpriced products and mediocre to bad customer support.

It’s really sad to see. I didn’t buy ASUS in the past because they were too expensive, and I don’t buy them now because they’re crap.

Oh yeah, about 15ish years ago they were highly regarded and their products were awesome, but over the last ten or so years they’ve gotten progressively worse, it’s disappointing and sad.

Yeah, I built my first PC around 15 years ago, and most people online recommended Asus or Gigabyte:

        • Asus - high quality products and support
        • Gigabyte - dual BIOS so you wouldn’t need support

Today, I mostly buy ASRock because they support optional features more often, such as ECC RAM and compatibility for newer AM4 processors on the OG x370. They were considered trash when I first built PCs, and now they’re pretty good. I guess Asus is the opposite now…
