Who am I?

I am a fat woman who fell victim to HAES (health at every size) and fat pride, and destroyed my health because of it. I got so fat I actually stopped having my period regularly. I got so fat that when checking for a potential tumor on my ovaries, my ultrasound was useless because they couldn’t see anything beyond my fat. I got so fat that at the age of 20 I was out of breath getting dressed, washing myself, tying my shoes, etc. I realized my irrational and self-destructive ways, realized I was just lying to myself, and am now on a path to improvement. I’m 25lbs down.

What is this community for?

This community is for showing the fat logic people often fall victim to. False, misleading, incorrect info promoting obesity or claiming it isn’t harmful when it very much is. Also, general irrationality, excuses, and bad takes from HAES and fat pride types.

Is this a hate group?

Absolutely not. I don’t hate fat people, I AM a fat woman! I only hate the idea of HAES and the damage both it and obesity does. If you check the rules (listed below), hate speech or being mean-spirited isn’t allowed.

I’m fat and it’s genetic, it’s out of my control, dieting doesn’t work, I have PCOS, it’s my meds, you’re an asshole, etc etc

Yeah yeah, same stuff I used to believe. No genetic disorder makes someone 150lbs overweight. ‘Dieting’ does work, or rather consuming less calories than you lose does work, it is a basic fact. If you claim it doesn’t work for you, you simply did it wrong. You, and no other fat person, defies the laws of thermodynamics. Sorry to burst your bubble. You’ve resigned yourself to being fat, and cope by saying it is out of your control. I’d know because I WAS you. It is within your control, but it’s fucking hard, food addiction is HARD, but you CAN lose weight. Set point theory doesn’t exist, starvation mode doesn’t exist, antidepressants may make you hungrier but they didn’t force you to consume more food. Stop lying to yourself, you are worth more than that.

NO, you don’t need to eat like a rabbit, you can eat whatever as long as you’re in a caloric deficit to lose weight. NO, you won’t gain weight from the myth of starvation mode. NO, losing weight won’t give you a higher set point, set point isn’t real. NO, you are NOT fatphobic for wanting to lose weight and feel better. NO, obesity IS NOT HEALTHY. Weight loss is fucking hard, I’m well aware, but stop acting like it’s out of your control.

    2-3 reasonable meals a day does not double your weight. Calories come from other sources, or unreasonable sized meals.

      Not with my meds unfortunately. Once you read the less official stuff about it, a “very stict diet” is recommended (impossible due to money and my mother liking traditional high calorie food), the sleep issues are “mitigated” by toxic positivity alone.
