Anyone interested in this official PlayStation accessory? If so, what do you think about the rumored specs for this device? Does this make you more excited to get the accessory or does it not change your current thoughts on it?
It really depends on the price point and the features, like noise cancellation and if I can use it with my phone (you never know)… and of course, how they sound and the quality of the mic!
So I guess, as always, we have to wait and see :)
Considering it’s Sony and the WF1000s are/were considered the best true wireless earbuds I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re effectively a rework of those buds but with drivers and an audio profile more focused on gaming than music. That said I have no doubt a premium headphone for PS from Sony wouldn’t be amazing.
Great point! I didn’t even think about it being used on my phone which would be an awesome feature to include. They are being real slow on the pricing information for this and for the Q handheld controller/monitor/… whatever. :)
It would be interesting if it used proprietary shit to solve the latency issue. None of the codecs available are tolerable for gaming.
Otherwise I doubt it does anything to justify it vs the field.
The article mentions a USB transceiver so it probably isn’t using Bluetooth for gaming. Probably 2.4 GHz wireless which won’t have any noticeable latency.
Their other headsets already solve this yeah, even back in the ps3 days
Too expensive at $200.

Same for the Remote Play gizmo.
They should bundle both together for $200.
Yes, very much. I don’t even know how many headsets for various things I’ve bought over the years, and every last one hurts my ears or squishes my head or both (and I’m a small person). The least painful I’ve tried is actually sony’s current PS headset, and they are actually heads above all the others… but they do still hurt. My ipod pros fit wonderfully and don’t hurt at all, but trying to get - and keep - a stable PS connection with them is such a pain in the ass that it’s not worth the effort for the amount of time I play in one sitting.
Which model are you referring to? I have the same issue. My ears are so sensitive, can’t wear most headsets for more than an hour without getting sore. The most comfortable ones I ever had was the PS HyperX Cloud. Unfortunately one side went out for some reason despite taking real good care of it. I read people have had the same malfunction so I’ve been hesitant to get another.
The most recent, the Pulse 3D ones. Much better than the others I’ve tried. The battery seems to last a lot longer, too, which is nice.
