    Something I’ve been told that is actually quite important too: for the chores to be equally split both partners needs to do at least 60% of the household work.

    Is this really a controversial stance in the UK? Ive been cooking and cleaning for myself since I moved into my first apartment, at least. Never mind the promise of ‘domestic bliss’, kind of just sounds like the bare minimum of being a considerate partner and an actual adult.

    I already do quite a bit of the housework, as well as most of the cooking. Always have.

      I don’t remember where I heard it, but I think it was from a movie I saw as a kid: “The best cooks are men”. I doubt it holds true in general, but it is my firm belief that it’s 100% true in our household. Unless baking is involved; I couldn’t keep yeast alive if my life depended on it.
