    Quick TL:DW

SpaceX is taking extensive measures to prevent future launch pad failures. They are retrofitting their launch pad with a new system that involves a water-cooled steel blast surface and a stronger foundation. The foundation includes concrete pilings, a blinding layer, and a pile cap. The company is excavating the old material from under the orbital launch mount and installing different types and sizes of pilings. They are also addressing challenges such as water seepage by creating a water-tight perimeter and using a dewatering system. The video also discusses the design and construction of the improved launch pad foundation, which includes massive steel plates embedded into the concrete structure. In addition, plans for installing a massive section at the launch pad are discussed, along with progress on the high-pressure water system. The investigation will continue in part two for more details.

That was an amazing video. The simulations and engineering cutaways get better every episode, but this time I was blown away. Great job Zach!
