I am at a loss. Up until a couple of days ago I was playing factorio fine, no issues. But even on the title screen I can tell the frames are tanking now. What is going on?

I have a decent laptop with a 4080 in it. I know laptops aren’t the best, but it hasn’t been an issue, and I wouldn’t expect to have any issues until I got into the really late game. I’ve reinstalled the drivers for the GPU I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled the game a couple times now, I’ve cleared temp files and still no change. it’s not thermal throttling because the Gpu still reads at 42-47 degrees C and the fans don’t even spin up. All of a sudden, I’ll get these massive lag spikes that make the game almost unplayable. it will go from 15-20% utilization to being pegged at 100%

Does anyone have any Idea why this would be happening?
