Elon Musk posted that he was against antisemitism Monday and blamed the Anti-Defamation League for lost advertising revenue since his acquisition of X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

The tech mogul posted his stance on free speech and antisemitism seemingly out of the blue on his verified account Monday afternoon. When asked by a user who was questioning his stance, Musk alleged that the ADL has been “trying to kill this platform by falsely accusing it & me of being anti-Semitic.”

“If this continues, we will have no choice but to file a defamation suit against, ironically, the ‘Anti-Defamation’ League,” Musk wrote. “If they lose the defamation suit, we will insist that they drop the the “anti” part of their name, since obviously …”

Remember, he grew up a rich white boy in full apartheid South Africa, and never matured beyond that. He has no ability for self-reflection or introspection. Which means he’s never wrong, so someone else must be to blame. So far, that’s included religious, racial, and sexual minorities. He’s only going to grow more deranged as time goes on.

As someone of Jewish heritage, I don’t think he is an anti-Semite himself. I think that he’s so eager to be liked by people due to his childhood and neurodiverse status that hell let people get away with murder if they suck up to him. Doesn’t make it any better but that’s my view.

I’m not a religious Jew. In fact, I’m an atheist. I never even used to really think of myself as Jewish because I never really identified with a lot of the culture despite having 100% Jewish heritage. But shit like this is making me want to join the other Jews circling the wagons.

David Baddiel’s book Jews Don’t Count makes some excellent points. One is that many people - including Jews - do not consider Jews as a race but rather as a cultural identity. On the flip side, racists very much see it as a race. The essence of his argument therein is that do you think that the Nazis would have checked whether you believe or not before putting you on a train?
