Some recommended projects by ascending order of difficulty:

• Samba server for sharing files like films on your local network
• pihole for network wide adblocking
• wireguard vpn

If it’s a zero make a pihole!

I first used my Raspberry Pi as a RetroPie, but now it sits on my network as a Pi-Hole.

First have some fun with it as a mobile thing, then if you get bored, definitely turn it into a permanent PiHole local network wide adblock and telemetry block (for vendors you don’t want, at least)
