America cannot be an omnipotent force, fighting every battle around the globe. It’s time US officials acknowledged this reality

    The US will, sooner or later, learn the same lesson all empires learnt before: No matter how mighty you are, some regional power somewhere will be beyond your control.

    This assumption is almost universal yet has been disproven time and time again, particularly in the Middle East.
